Working height is the total reach from the ground — the platform height plus approximately 2 metres for a person’s arm reach above the deck. Platform height is the actual height of the floor of the basket or platform where you stand. So a machine listed as “12m working height” typically has a platform height of around 10m. When sizing equipment for a job, always confirm which measurement applies to your task and allow clearance for the work activity above the deck.
